Knowledge and Experience. When You Need it Most.
All Ontario laws must comply with the Ontario Human Rights Code which provides that everyone ought to be free of discrimination and harassment, including in all aspects of their employment, housing and services.
The following is an excerpt from the Ontario Human Rights Commission:
“The Ontario Human Rights Code is for everyone. It is a
provincial law that gives everybody equal rights and opportunities without
discrimination in areas such as jobs, housing and services. The Code’s goal is
to prevent discrimination and harassment because of race, sex, disability and
age, to name a few of the 17 grounds. All other Ontario laws must agree with the
Code.”
Where an individual believes that their rights have been breached
on the basis of the projected grounds, an application can be filed with the
Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
